This story starts off right in the midst of the action. But luckily, Alosa has a few tricks up her sleeve – and no lone pirate can stop the Daughter of the Pirate King.” More than a match for the ruthless pirate crew, Alosa has only one thing standing between her and the map: her captor, the unexpectedly clever and unfairly attractive first mate, Riden. “Sent on a mission to retrieve an ancient hidden map-the key to a legendary treasure trove-seventeen-year-old pirate captain Alosa deliberately allows herself to be captured by her enemies, giving her the perfect opportunity to search their ship. I was also very curious to see how a female protagonist would behave in the hyper-masculine setting of a pirate ship.

The fact that it was a pirate-themed book made it even more appealing since I recently watched Pirates of the Caribbean and it’s put me in the mood to indulge in similar swashbuckling adventure stories. I was looking for something fun and fast to read and a young adult novel seemed to fit the bill. Of course, like many of my reads this year, I came across this book as a free offering as part of the Kindle Unlimited subscription service. I had great fun reading this novel so I’m excited to share it with you today! It is the first installment in a two-part duology.

Ahoy, mateys! Today I’ll be reviewing a young adult pirate adventure novel, Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller.
